Poster Session deadline approaching!

Planning on joining us in Binghamton in June?  Why not submit a proposal for the Poster Session, and present at the conference!  The deadline for proposal submissions is March 15.

Extra things to do on Friday

If you are joining us in Binghamton in June,  here are a few things to check out on the Friday after the conference if you are staying in town (or maybe this will give you a reason to stick around!).

*  First Fridays Art Walk:  On the first Friday of every month, the Gorgeous Washington Street Association hosts an evening of  "gallery hopping, art openings, music and theater shows, fine dining, cafes, entertainment and merchant’s special events" from 6 to 9 p.m.

*The Binghamton Mets will be playing a game against the New Britain Rock Cats at 7:05 p.m.   Tickets are $9 - $11 depending on where you choose to sit.  Tickets can be purchased here.

* The Roberson Museum and Science Center is open from 12 to 9pm on Friday.   Admission is $8.   Planetarium shows are at 7pm and 8pm on Friday evening and are an additional $4.

*The Roberson also houses the Binghamton Visitor Center.

NYAC 2014

We are pleased to announce that the 2014 annual meeting of the New York Archives Conference (NYAC) will be Wednesday, June 4 – Friday, June 6, 2014, in Binghamton, NY at Binghamton University. More details about the conference will be forthcoming.  Keep an eye on http://www.nyarchivists.org/nyac/ for the program, and other information!

Diverse subjects such as preparing for and dealing with disasters; audio-visual archiving, preservation, and digitization; archives policies and procedures; archives and the public good; advocacy and outreach; oral histories; career development and training; supporting the Common Core with primary resources; electronic records inventory and preservation for universities and colleges; and more!
